Dear Len,
Enclosed is the balance of royalties due to Select Entertainment. We enjoyed a fabulous run. Seven of the 14 performances were sold out, with chairs in the aisles! The atmosphere in the theater was absolutely electric, and it wasn’t uncommon for audience members to attend more than once so they could share the experience with their friends.
We actually received several thank you notes from patrons who wanted to let us know how much fun they had at “Hot Flashes.” I put them up in the dressing room for the actresses to enjoy.
We also got comments by email:
“The man sitting next to me was enjoying himself as much as his wife. The humor was outrageous, and the ballads certainly touched one’s soul.” - Rusty P.
“A laugh out loud good time, this musical is a sure bet to entertain families, couples, and friends of all ages.” -Matt
Kate & Rick were very helpful and flexible in allowing us to make changes that would bring “Hot Flashes” into line with our community’s standards. Our loyal patrons have come to expect entertainment that is PG-13, and they all loved the show with the revisions that we were allowed to make.
We were also given permission to use four actresses for the vocals, and hire a 3-piece band to provide instrumentation. This worked very well, and I’d be happy to share ideas with anyone who is considering doing this wonderful show but doesn’t have access to singers who also play instruments.
I also want to thank you, Len, and Select Entertainment for working with us on a payment schedule that made it possible to produce the show without financial strain. As always, we so appreciate the way that you work with smaller production companies such as ours to make it a win-win situation.
All the best,
Peggy White, Producer
